Eduard Folayang absorbed another devastating loss in his MMA career.
Hoping to revamp his ONE career after a series of slumps last year, Folayang took on Pieter Burst only to be dealt with a split decision loss, one of his notable upsets as a professional fighter.
The victory increased Buist’s winning streak to 8 and is currently waiting for a break at ONE after sending the Filipino legend to a devastating defeat.
Folayang opened the rounds with his signature spinning kicks and punches but failed to connect with Buist the majority of the time.
The slow recovery of Folayang after a spinning attempt gave Buist several openings with his quick touch jabs that connected many times.
Also, the efficient striking of Buist piled his scores in the cards of the judges as he settled for volume strikes rather than finding the big one to send Folayang down.
Folayang’s loss left the crowd in Manila stunned, seeing their idol beaten in his own home cage.
