PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial confirmed that despite Calvin Abueva already completed the necessary steps for the lifting of his indefinite suspension, there is still one process left.
“Nag-usap na kami ni Calvin last Thursday. Nagkamustuhan kami, maganda yung kwentuhan. Sinasabi ko sa kanya na, ‘Calvin may proseso pa na gagawin,’” Marcial bared.
After complying with the PBA’s conditions for his clearance, Marcial and the board still can’t give Abueva the green light for a formal league comeback.
The requirements set to him by the PBA that were completed on time were drug tests, psychological therapy sessions, and community services.
“Ang maganda rito, nagkausap kami, naintindihan niya ako, at naiintindihan ko siya,” said Marcial during the Philippine Sportswriters Association Forum.
When asked what the last and final process was, Marcial said he cannot reveal it at this moment for the protection of everyone in the PBA.
“Tapos na lahat, resulta na lang ang hinihintay. Hanggang ngayon, yun ang hinihintay ko, kung ano ang sasabihin ni Commissioner sa ginawa ko,” Abueva said.
