PBA chairman reveals Clark bubble cost

While PBA commissioner Willie Marcial kept his silence regarding the cost of their Clark bubble, board chairman Ricky Vargas did not hesitate to reveal the amount.

“The commissioner has always stayed away from that question. But I’ll tell you, it’s close to sixty-five million pesos that will cost us,” said PBA board chairman Vargas.

After months of thorough deliberation, PBA commissioner Marcial and the board decided to push through with their plan despite budget woes.

Chairman Vargas added that the PBA will spend a huge amount of money for the accommodation and food consumption of the players, coaches, and the league personnel present in the bubble.

The PBA tapped the four-star Quest Hotel as the main housing venue and the Angeles University Foundation Gym as the main PBA bubble arena.

Fortunately, the league will be saving funds in the Covid-19 testing department after revealing that Clark will be the one shouldering the expenses.

“Ang pinakamalaking parte sa cost is the accommodation and the food. But we got a lot of discounts at the venue. And in fact, thanks to Clark, even the testing now is for free. It could have been more than that,” Vargas happily said.

Currently, the entire PBA is still waiting for the approval of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) as the final verdict for the greenlight of their bubble.
