South Korean star Park Min-young leads a new wave of K-drama thrillers with Confidence Queen, a comedic caper series premiering exclusively on Prime Video in the Philippines and 240 other countries and territories starting September 6.
Blending fast-paced heist action with sharp wit, Confidence Queen follows Yun Yi-rang, played by Park, a brilliant heiress-turned-master-con-artist who forms an unlikely team to outwit the corrupt and take back their ill-gotten wealth.
“Yi-rang is all about transformation,” Prime Video said in its release. “She’s sharp, intuitive, and precise—everything you’d want in a mastermind con artist. Viewers will see Park Min-young like they’ve never seen her before.”
Park Min-young, best known for her roles in Marry My Husband and What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, takes a bold leap with her portrayal of Yi-rang, whose childhood trauma pushes her into a life in the shadows—and later into the world of elaborate scams.
“She creates a team with James and Gu-ho to strip villains of their illicitly gained money and builds her own wealth,” Prime Video explained.
Joo Jong-hyuk, who rose to fame in Extraordinary Attorney Woo, plays Myung Gu-ho, the heart of the trio—an optimist with a warm presence who helps balance Yi-rang’s razor-sharp intellect.
Veteran actor Park Hee-soon, last seen in Squid Game Season 3, brings gravitas as James, a quiet and steady figure with a taste for risk and reinvention.
Confidence Queen is a Korean adaptation of a hugely popular Japanese IP and is directed by Nam Ki-hoon, known for Destined with You and Kiss Sixth Sense, and written by Criminal Minds writer Hong Seung-hyun.
The series marks a return to ensemble storytelling and genre-bending K-dramas, building on the success of Korean series already on Prime Video like GOOD BOY, Spice Up Our Love, and No Gain No Love.
New episodes of Confidence Queen will be released weekly every Saturday and Sunday beginning September 6, as part of Prime Video’s growing commitment to original Korean content.
Subscribers in the Philippines can access Confidence Queen and thousands of other shows and films for just PHP149 per month, with the option to download episodes for offline viewing through the Prime Video app.
The service also features popular titles such as Fallout, The Boys, Reacher, and The Summer I Turned Pretty, as well as Korean exclusives like Marry My Husband and Linlang.
