Pandan town first to launch BPLS in Antique

THE Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Antique Provincial Office lauded the municipality of Pandan for being the first Local Government Unit (LGU) to launch the electronic Business Permit Licensing System (eBPLS) in Antique.

“The automation of the BPLS using the eBPLS software is one of the efforts of DILG in guiding the LGUs to be more business friendly and competitive. This is in compliance to Republic Act 11032 or Ease of Doing Business Law which will be strictly implemented, so we are encouraging all the LGUs to streamline BPLS,” said Hennesey Gasataya, DILG Antique BPLS Focal Person.

Pandan’s eBPLS was launched on July 24, 2019 at the Liberman Sports Complex in Centro Norte, Pandan.

During the launching, Gasataya briefed the participants on the eBPLS, especially the provisions of RA 11032 in implementing faster business permits processing time using the eBPLS software developed by the Department Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

RA 11032 was authored by former Iloilo congressman Ferjenel Biron in the House of Representatives.

Jimuel Espanola, DICT eBPLS Focal Person, said Pandan is the most ICT-ready LGU in the province, having implemented several internet-based programs including the provision of free public wi-fi.

The municipality of Laua-an will also hold its eBPLS launching in August 2019.

DILG Antique Provincial Director Cherryl P. Tacda hopes that more LGUS in the province will become more business friendly by streamlining their BPLS.
