The MPBL All-Star game gave joy to the Filipinos at Calgary, Canada, where Senator Manny Pacquaio, the league’s founder, joined by several teams and the MPBL committee, did a series of exhibition games.
Pacquiao, together with selected Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW), went up against team Calgary with Pacman posting 31 points, 11 dimes, and 10 boards to pace his team for a 116-99 routing.
With his recent 42-point outburst in their past international game in Dubai, Pacquaio’s consistent performance in the road became one of his trademarks.
One of the main purposes of the event is to give back to the OFW’s working hard in Canada just to give their families a better life.
The next game featured MPBL All-Stars led by Mark Yee squaring up against the Calgary Storm but ended up in a tie, 95 all.
Yee led the MPBL squad with another familiar double-double, chalking up 27 huge points and 12 rebounds.
