Pa, son nabbed over murder raps

A father and his son were arrested over a murder charge morning of Feb 5, 2022 in Laua-an, Antique.
Police identified the suspects as Joery Jungco Sr., 56, a farmer, and Jonifer Jungco, 32, laborer, both residents of Barangay Laua-an, Laua-an.
Members of the Laua-an Municipal Police Station, Regional Intelligence Unit 6 (RIU-6), and 2nd Antique Provincial Mobile Force Company, collared the two suspects by virtue of an arrest warrant for Criminal Case No. RT-BGS-2022-02-2038-L.
Judge Mario Andres of the 6th Regional Trial Court (6RTC) Branch 64, Bugasong, Antique, issued the warrant on Feb. 4.
No bail was set for their temporary liberty.
According to Senior Master Sergeant Cris Dava, Laua-an police investigator, the case stemmed from a murder incident several years ago.
The victim was found dead with hack wounds on different parts of his body.
The suspects were not immediately known until investigation pointed to the Jungcos as the suspects.
Dava said the victim’s family employed a private counsel in filing the charges against the suspects.
Joery and Jonifer are now detained and will be turned over to the court concerned.
