A tricycle driver and a teenager were added to the list of arrested drug peddlers in Iloilo province.
John Paul Jayona, 26, of Barangay Ungka 2, Pavia, Iloilo, and Joel Cornelio, 19, of Barangay Binon-an, Batad, Iloilo, were arrested on July 25.
Jayona was apprehended in Barangay Pandac, Pavia, around 11:35 p.m. on Thursday. Members of the Pavia Municipal Police Station, together with the Iloilo Police Provincial Office – Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (IPPO-PDEU), arrested him after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu for P6,500.
Jayona, a tricycle driver, was found with nine more sachets and other non-drug items. The seized drugs weighed around 65 grams with a standard drug price of P442,000.
Meanwhile, Cornelio was arrested at 4:50 p.m. on Thursday in Barangay Binon-an, Batad.
Members of the Batad Municipal Police Station, along with the IPPO-PDEU, seized around 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000 from him.
The two suspects are now detained for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
