BACOLOD City – A security guard detailed to an infirmary in Binalbagan, Negros Occidental was arrested in a buy-bust at Purok Gumamela, Barangay Enclaro in the town Tuesday night.
Police identified the subject as John Mark Villanueva, 36, of Enclaro village who allegedly yielded P238,000 worth of illegal drugs.
Recovered from him were eight sachets of suspected shabu, a sachet of suspected dried marijuana leaves, P1,000 cash, and fake money used in the drug sting.
Police Captain Ellendie Rebusquillo, town police chief, said the PNP-Drug Enforcement Unit began monitoring Villanueva upon receiving information allegedly linking him in the illegal drug trade.
Rebusquillo said Villanueva was hesitant to reveal his connections.
“Ginakulbaan man siya siguro,” he added.
Rebusquillo said that Villanueva is a newly identified target and is on the drugs watchlist of the police station.
He has yet to be reached for comment.
Meanwhile, two persons were also arrested in a drug bust in Barangay Guinhalaran, Silay City that day for the confiscation of P54,400 worth of suspected shabu.
