P200-K bounty up for suspects in killing of trike driver in Himamaylan

BACOLOD City – Mayor Raymund Tongson is offering a cash reward of P200,000 to anyone who can give information that will lead to the identification and arrest of the perpetrator/s in the killing of a tricycle driver in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental last Friday.

Based on police investigation, the victim identified as Antonio Tobias, 67, of Barangay Aguisan, was on board a sports utility vehicle (SUV) driven by an engineer when an unidentified person shot their car in the said village around 8:20 a.m.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound in the head while the suspect fled, according to the police.

Police said they have yet to establish the motive of the gun attack. They are also probing who was the target in the incident.

In a statement, Tongson condemned the brutal killing of Tobias.

He instructed Police Lieutenant Colonel Reynante Jomocan, city police chief, to conduct a thorough investigation into this brazen killing.

“Rest assured that the city government is on top of the situation,” the local chief executive said.

As of yesterday, Tongson said that police have a person of interest, but could not reveal yet the name, pending the investigation.

Tongson assured that the police and the local government are doing their best to bring the perpetrator/s behind bars and give justice to the victim.
