A man accused of robbery in Oton, Iloilo was arrested on the morning of June 9 in Bago City, Negros Occidental.
The suspect, identified as alias Rich, 27, a laborer from Purok Camansi, Barangay Poblacion, Bago City, was apprehended at San Esteban Subdivision Phase II, Barangay Lag-asan, Bago City.
Members of the Oton Municipal Police Station and Bago City Police Station served the arrest warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 35, Iloilo City.
The court recommended a bail of PHP72,000 for his temporary release.
Maj. Rolando Araño, spokesperson of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), said the suspect was accused of stealing a laptop, two tablets, and a Bluetooth speaker from an unoccupied house at Savannah Subdivision in Oton on Dec. 27, 2024.
Authorities learned that the suspect previously worked as a carpenter at the same house while it was under renovation.
He left Iloilo and returned to Bago City before the arrest warrant was issued.
The suspect is now in custody pending further legal proceedings.
