Local entrepreneurs in Oton, Iloilo gained practical knowledge to enhance business promotion and market reach through “Mastering Marketing: A Training on Marketing Strategies,” organized by the Local Economic Development and Investments Promotion Office in partnership with the DTI Iloilo Provincial Office’s Negosyo Centers in Oton and Tigbauan.
The one-day activity brought together micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), startup business owners, and representatives from community organizations seeking to strengthen their competitiveness in local and wider markets.
Ram Ydnar Tribulete, business counselor at Negosyo Center Oton, led a session on marketing strategies that covered identifying target customers, building brand identity, and applying cost-efficient promotions while stressing the need to align plans with customer needs and long-term growth.
Tasha Marie Mondia, business counselor at Negosyo Center Tigbauan, discussed joining and maximizing trade fairs by showing how exhibitions can open opportunities for exposure, networking, and partnerships while coaching participants on booth preparation, product presentation, packaging, and storytelling to capture buyer interest.
The training provided practical, actionable strategies that participants can immediately apply to their businesses and encouraged collaboration among local entrepreneurs to foster a more dynamic business community in Oton.
Negosyo Centers are DTI one-stop shops established under the Go Negosyo Act to provide MSMEs with advisory services, training, financing facilitation, and market access support.
The initiative is part of the continuing efforts of the Municipal Government of Oton and the DTI Iloilo Provincial Office to empower MSMEs and promote local economic development through capacity-building programs.
