One dead, two hurt in Panitan motorcycle crash

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A motorist died while two others were seriously injured after two motorcycles collided Saturday afternoon, Oct. 3, along the national highway in Barangay Agkilo, Panitan, Capiz.
Reports from the Panitan Municipal Police Station (MPS) said alias “Joemar,” 42, a vendor and resident of Barangay Cogon, Panitan, was driving a Kawasaki Barako motorized tricycle with alias “Gen,” 46, also of the barangay, as his passenger.
Meanwhile, alias “John,” 42, was driving a Honda Click motorcycle from Barangay Conciencia toward Panitan town proper when he allegedly rear-ended Joemar’s tricycle.
Because of the impact, the two drivers and the passenger sustained injuries to different parts of their bodies.
The victims were taken by the Panitan Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to hospitals for treatment.
Joemar and Gen were brought to Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital, while John was taken to Bailan District Hospital in Pontevedra, where he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
The vehicles involved are under the custody of the Panitan police for proper disposition.
