OMODA and JAECOO ushered in a new era of smart, stylish and sustainable mobility with the launch of their state-of-the-art showroom at the Goldfield Center in Cabugao Sur, Sta. Barbara, Iloilo, on Saturday, June 28.
The grand opening marked the brands’ bold entry into the Western Visayas market, showcasing flagship models including the OMODA C5 (gasoline engine), the OMODA E5 (fully electric) and the JAECOO J6 (fully electric).
Marc Zhang, country director of OMODA and JAECOO Philippines, said the Iloilo expansion is timely due to the region’s fast-growing demand for modern mobility solutions.
“As we continue to drive innovation in the automotive industry, we are committed to delivering an exceptional experience,” Zhang said.
OMODA and JAECOO are premium export-only brands developed by Chery International to target global markets with unique design and product positioning.
Launched in 2022, OMODA features a design philosophy called “Art in Motion,” known for its avant-garde aesthetics, dual high-resolution screens, wireless charging and premium interiors.
JAECOO, launched in 2023, focuses on the SUV segment with a utilitarian and refined design for practical daily use.
The brands are also promoting environmental sustainability through their electric vehicle line-up aimed at reducing carbon emissions without sacrificing performance or comfort.
The OMODA E5 and JAECOO J6 highlight the brands’ vision for future-ready mobility that merges luxury, innovation and environmental responsibility.
Engr. Felvin Gurrea, vice president for internal operations at Goldfield Motorsales, praised JAECOO’s performance and daily driving appeal.
“In my personal experience driving this car first-hand, I was blown away by how quickly I arrived at my destination with minimal effort,” he said.
“This car is an absolute gem for daily driving. It’s efficient, smooth and traveling feels like flying,” Gurrea added.
Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas called the launch a milestone in the city’s journey toward smart and sustainable urban development.
“As we strive toward a smarter and more sustainable Iloilo, promoting electric and intelligent mobility is no longer a futuristic ambition but a present and pressing reality,” he said.
He added that the brands’ entry into the electric vehicle market aligns with the city’s clean energy goals and its commitment to climate resilience and urban livability.
OMODA and JAECOO, launched in China in 2023, have since expanded to more than 35 countries, including the Philippines.
They currently operate branches in Cebu, Pasig, Tagum, Alabang, Sta. Rosa and now Iloilo.
