OKC’s Jalen Williams suffers dislocated ankle, fractured fibula
By Leobert Julian A. de la Peña

The Oklahoma City Thunder will continue its 2026-27 NBA regular season without the services of superstar forward Jalen Williams.
On Oct. 26, 2026, Williams sustained a gruesome leg injury, suffering a fractured fibula and a dislocated left ankle during Oklahoma’s 108-101 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.
The unfortunate event took place at the 1:14 mark of the fourth quarter, after Alex Caruso swung an extra pass to Williams, who was waiting from the left elbow.
Williams drove past Kris Dunn, took two extra dribbles, and attempted a poster dunk over the soaring Derrick Jones Jr.
However, the entire Paycom Center suddenly went dead silent after a foul was called, as Williams landed on one foot, which resulted in the devastating injury.
Everyone was stunned.
His co-star, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, became the first to approach him. The former NBA MVP tried to calm him down, but Williams covered his whole face with both hands upon seeing his leg.
Williams had to be stretched off the floor, and his entire team dedicated the close win to their young and energetic forward, who just came back healthy from a hamstring injury.
After missing most of last season’s Western Conference Finals series against the San Antonio Spurs, Williams immediately got back at their rivals after helping the Thunder clinch the NBA opening night dub during the rematch, 116-104.
In 29 minutes of playing time, Williams tallied an all-around effort of 12 points, seven rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block.
Williams is slowly getting back on track and averaged 13.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in his first three regular-season games.
“I don’t even know,” SGA said of Williams after OKC’s win over the Clippers.
“I just felt bad for him. It’s obviously going to be tough without a player like him. He will be back better and we know it. We just have to hold the fort until he comes back.”
