The most-awaited basketball league in the province of Capiz is finally here.
After two years since its last staging, On D’ Move (ODM) Sports League is back with a bang, successfully kicking off its Capiz Inter-Town “King of the Town” basketball tournament on Sept. 14, 2025, at the Panay Sports Complex.
“We know kung ano ka passionate ang mga taga Capiz in terms of town pride sa patag sang basketball, that’s why ODM didn’t hesitate nga gaan sila sini,” said ODM league founder and commissioner Jeremiah Obera in an exclusive interview with the Daily Guardian.
After almost two months of hands-on preparation and planning, Commissioner Obera and the rest of the ODM committee warmly welcomed the 16 participating towns and four city teams during the opening ceremony.
Representing the first district are Panay, Panitan, Pilar, Pres. Roxas, Maayon, and Pontevedra. Meanwhile, second district towns that vowed to claim this season’s throne are Ivisan, Sigma, Sapian, Cuartero, Dao, Dumalag, Dumarao, Tapaz, Jamindan, and Mambusao.
Joining the town-side teams are Chlark, Banica Maniacs, JRD Furniture, Phenom, RMT Alamac, and Armorsteel Phatass from the city areas.
Unlike the last two conferences where ODM implemented an open-category format, this season features two: the 18–30 years old, and the 31-up categories.
Aside from the new category, the ODM Sports League will also implement a series of road games that will bring the scheduled showdowns closer to the fans.
All towns and city teams suited up in the 18–30 division, while seven participants completed the 31-up, namely, Pontevedra, Ivisan, Dumarao, Tapaz, Dao, RMT, and Armorsteel.
Present during the opening was SB Lito Barria, a representative from Mayor Sonny Besa of Panay, together with other sponsoring organizations.
ODM would like to thank its major sponsors—ES Print Media and Homer Philippines—as well as Espacio Verde Resort, Cagay River Tour, Work Avenue Driving School, Pueblo de Panay, Modish Nails & Hair, Emperador, Fiesta Inasal, Yam Advertising, Jax Athletix, and Molten Philippines.
“God bless to all towns and city teams,” Obera added.
“Para ini sa inyo, ari lang kami d nga ODM Sports League para mag hatag sang kasadya kag avenue sa players. Sa sports, ululupod kita diri tanan!”
