The National University (NU) Lady Bulldogs women’s volleyball squad is currently in hot water after photos and videos of their alleged training surfaced on social media.
During the sliding down of Metro Manila’s quarantine level to General Community Quarantine (GCQ), the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases allowed the resumption of practices to both basketball and football but only limited such to professional leagues.
Netizens were up in arms after photos and videos of the Lady Bulldogs went viral online with them training with weights in a mass gathering setup.
IATF still did not allow the resumption of practice sessions for amateur teams including the UAAP, whether it be basketball or football.
Lady Bulldogs head coach Norman Miguel said that their school will release an official public statement regarding the situation.
Included in the alleged illegal quarantine training done by the Lady Bulldogs are mass gathering and the starting of team practices without the consent of the IATF.
