The National Food Authority (NFA) in Iloilo is optimistic that the provincial office will reach its 2020 procurement target for palay even before the year ends.
Jose Mario Adan D. Pacificador, NFA Iloilo provincial manager, said that since January this year, they have already procured 810,458 bags of palay, as of October 5, 2020.
“Our target for the year is 889,900 bags and we are very optimistic that we could reach our target, even exceed it,” he said.
For September alone, Pacificador said that NFA Iloilo was able to procure 241,815 bags of palay in the province.
He said that the agency posted 186.01 percent accomplishment, compared to its procurement target of 130,000 bags for the month.
He added that for the remaining months of 2020, the following are the procurement targets: 200,000 bags for October; 220,000 bags for November; and 110,000 bags for December. (JSC/LTP/PIA6 Iloilo)
