With sports mask now a huge necessity especially with sports slowly coming back to action amid the COVID-19 pandemic, athletes are looking for the perfect one to wear during practices.
Fine Guard Sport, the newest sports mask in town and produced by Livinguard is currently turning heads after claiming that it is “scientifically proven to destroy 99.9 percent of pathogens, including the virus that causes COVID-19.”
According to Livinguard’s official website, “The textiles in these masks can thus continuously inactivate the exhaled viruses and can make handling these masks even safer overall. In addition, such textiles could also help to reduce hygienic issues in other general and medical areas, even beyond COVID-19,” Free University of Berlin Uwe Rosler said.
A series of tests were done to validate Fine Guard Sport’s claims including one done by the researchers from the Free University of Berlin at the Institute for Animal Hygiene and Environmental Health and also at the ISO 18184 protocol.
Aside from University of Berlin’s findings, a separate research by the University of Arizona was done through testing the textile on a variety of pathogens including coronavirus 229e which can cause COVID-19.
“We have Olympians endorsing the product that have trained with it, tested it, and helped us develop it, including Filipino pole vaulter, EJ Obiena, who uses the mask in both training and competition. It is the only sports mask endorsed by the leading physicians of the Medical Wellness Association, for the prevention of infection,” said James Michael Lafferty, CEO of Fine Hygienic Holding.
The Fine Guard Sport mask is now available in the Philippines both at Beauty Bar and in Lazmall and retails for 2,195 pesos.
