BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental — The provincial government of Negros Occidental has renewed the employment contracts of nearly 3,000 workers while opening applications for several key permanent department head positions at the Provincial Capitol in Bacolod City.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson signed the renewed contracts this week, covering 668 casual employees, 1,076 contract of service workers and 1,095 job order employees, bringing the total number of renewed personnel to 2,839.
Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said Wednesday that the renewals were based on employees’ performance records.
“These workers have demonstrated good performance in their respective roles, and they deserve to continue serving the province and its people,” Diaz said.
He said the renewals will help ensure uninterrupted delivery of essential public services as the provincial government implements its development programs for the year.
At the same time, the provincial government has opened applications for permanent leadership positions in five key offices currently headed by officers in charge, Diaz said.
The vacant posts include provincial accountant, provincial agriculturist, human resource management officer, provincial disaster risk reduction and management officer and assistant head of the Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center.
Diaz stressed the importance of appointing permanent officials to strengthen governance and ensure continuity in public service delivery.
“These offices are currently being run by officers in charge, and we need to appoint permanent leaders to ensure consistent and effective delivery of services to the people of Negros Occidental,” he said.
The recruitment process is open to qualified provincial government employees and external applicants who meet the required qualifications.
Applicants are advised to submit their documents to the appropriate office at the Provincial Capitol.
Additional details on application procedures and eligibility requirements are expected to be released in the coming days.
