BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer said the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) eyes to approve the 2024 budget in the first week of December 2023.
Ferrer told reporters that currently, the SP Committee on Budget and Finance is conducting budget hearings of the different departments of the provincial government.
“Our target is to have the 2024 budget approved by the first week of next month,” he further said.
Earlier, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson submitted the proposed P5.5-billion 2024 budget to the SP.
The proposed budget is P400 million more than the P5.1 billion this year.
Lacosn said the bulk of the proposed budget will go to infrastructure projects such as farm-to-market roads and school buildings.
