The National Collegiate Athletic Association is preparing for something big regarding its 96th season.
In its quest of improvising ways to hold the NCAA Season 96 amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the committee had numerous structural plans in order for it to be materialized but one stood out among the most.
The new format of games comes with numerous bubble setups for NCAA where two major bubbles will first take place, one in Intramuros followed by another one in Recto or Mendiola.
Two playing bubbles will be setup because both the seniors’ volleyball and basketball will be split into two brackets.
For the upcoming new format, each bracket will have a total of 20 elimination games and the top two for each will advance to a crossover semifinals with the top teams for both groups having a twice-to-beat advantage.
Bracket A will have Letran, Perpetual Help, Lyceum, Mapua, and Jose Rizal University while the other bracket will host San Beda, Arellano, Emilio Aguinaldo, San Sebastian, and the College of Saint Benilde.
Before entering the proposed bubble setups, all athletes including the coaching staff and personnel will undergo a two-week quarantine.
