The National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) committee has decided to postpone the Western Visayas Regional Finals due to the Covid-19 scare.
Those who will represent Iloilo, Negros, Aklan, and Capiz will wait for another week as the original schedule is February 22-23 2020 and was moved to March 7-8, 2020, still at Ibajay Aklan.
The news was confirmed by NBTC Western Visayas area head Dr. Richard Gabayoyo, saying that their request for the original schedule was turned down by both the Department of Health (DOH) and Department of Education (DepEd) for safety purposes amid the Covid-19 scare.
The top heavyweights from all over Western Visayas will have to wait two weeks before battling each other for the opportunity to represent Region VI in the NBTC nationals in Manila.
WV will try to break the perfect record of Hua Siong College of Iloilo, as they were able to notch every Championship game they played including the NBTC at WIT Gym.
