Giannis Antetokounmpo is on the move.
On Jan. 29, 2026, ESPN’s veteran NBA insider Shams Charania confirmed that the 10-time NBA All-Star is “ready” for a new home and might leave the Milwaukee Bucks when the trade deadline approaches this February.
According to Charania, Milwaukee started to entertain some aggressive offers from Eastern Conference powerhouse teams, the Miami Heat and the New York Knicks.
In the Western Conference, teams that reportedly inquired about Antetokounmpo were the Golden State Warriors and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Greek Freak is reportedly open to being moved anytime this season, but is also considering some options if the Bucks propose an offer he can’t refuse.
Rumors of Antetokounmpo leaving Milwaukee already circulated in the first few months of the 2025–2026 NBA season when the Bucks failed to have the ideal start they envisioned.
Aside from the losing record, Antetokounmpo also drew flak for criticizing his teammates’ efforts when the Bucks underwent a disappointing seven-game losing streak last November 2025.
During their 20-point blowout loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Antetokounmpo didn’t hold back, blaming the team’s lack of chemistry as the sole reason why they lost to the defending NBA champions.
In 30 games played this season, Antetokounmpo is still averaging dominant numbers, tallying 28 points, 10 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 0.9 steals per game.
Despite the steady stats, the Bucks still struggled to rack up consistent winning stretches and fared worse without Antetokounmpo in the lineup, with a 3-12 win-loss record.
“Sources said Antetokounmpo has informed the Bucks for months that he believes the moment has come to part ways after 12-plus years together, making a trade increasingly possible,” Charania said.
Will Antetokounmpo leave the Bucks for real? If everything is true, which team best fits him?
Ladies and gentlemen, the Greek Freak sweepstakes is now open.
