The NBA issued its newest policy regarding load management where teams who rest healthy players during nationally televised games will find themselves slapped with a $100,000 fine.
According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, the NBA will formally introduce its newest policy which will bar teams from resting players who are deemed healthy to play.
This latest policy by the NBA is expected to limit load management – a scheme which more and more NBA teams are now employing.
During last season, specifically last November, it was reported that the NBA sent memos to teams who rest their healthy players in nationally televised games.
In addition, ESPN’s Zach Lowe said that the NBA made it clear that the only time the teams can rest their healthy players if the game is held at home and broadcasted on local television.
The rule regarding the players sitting out at home is still not certain and unclear as of this moment and will be announced in the following weeks whether they will still allow them to do it or might as well slap them with fines.
