THE Western Visayas Private Schools Athletic Association (WVPRISAA) continues to collect gold medals in the ongoing National PRISAA 2019 at the University of Mindanao in Davao City last May 22, 2019.
Following the gold medal finish of Ezel Divinagracia in the tertiary women’s 400m hurdles, other Region 6 tracksters added more medals in the second day of the games.
John Francis Biñas salvaged a gold medal in tertiary men’s high jump, while Jhoanna Rose Montano Sajonia captured another gold in tertiary women’s javelin throw.
Arjay Mendrez of the University of St. La Salle (USLS) also won gold in tertiary mens 100-meter dash, while Angelo Demontaño of Central Philippine University (CPU) Golden Lions topped the tertiary men’s 110 hurdles.
Silver medals went to Edilyn Batiancilla of USLS in the tertiary shot put and Antonette Jay Aguillon of Bacolod Tay Tung High School in secondary girls’ long jump.
Thanya Ibasco of the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos added another silver in tertiary womens discus throw, while Renzy Gamolaga of St. Therese-MTC Colleges in tertiary mens discus throw.
The WVPRISAA men’s volleyball team won their second game at the expense of Bicol Region, 25-23, 25-21, 25-7.
The region’s women’s softball represented by CPU also thrashed Bicol Region, 12-1.
Region VI also eliminated Ilocos, Bicol, and Central Luzon regions in tertiary men’s sepak-takraw.
In table tennis, the secondary boys’ and girls’ teams won the gold medals, while the tertiary men and women settled for silver.
