On Aug. 29, 2025, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Guimaras intensified the rollout of the Barangay Civil Registry Assistance Project (BRAP) alongside National ID mobile registration to make services more accessible to residents.
PSA Guimaras, through its hired BRAP agent, has been facilitating the processing, verification, and registration of birth records since the project’s implementation.
As of Aug. 22, 2025, a total of 3,646 records were submitted for verification, with 2,990 successfully verified and 2,363 issued omnibus certification.
“Of these, 763 birth records have been registered through electronic endorsement, out-of-town processing, and regular processing,” Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare said.
For Security Paper (SECPA) generation, 561 copies were produced, with 84 from the Central Office and 477 from the Regional Statistical Services Office.
Out of these, 208 SECPA copies were awarded to beneficiaries, equivalent to 37 percent of the total generated.
Nueva Valencia led municipal accomplishments with 1,384 submissions, 393 registered records, and 145 SECPA copies awarded.
Jordan followed with 914 submissions, 183 registered records, and three SECPA copies awarded out of 145 available.
Buenavista recorded 512 submissions, 132 registered records, and 33 SECPA copies awarded.
San Lorenzo posted 132 submissions, 26 registered records, and no SECPA copies generated.
Sibunag submitted 704 records, with 29 registered and 27 SECPA copies awarded out of 28 generated, equivalent to 96 percent.
Meanwhile, the National ID mobile registration allowed residents to secure credentials through physical cards, paper format, or the Digital National ID accessible via the eGovPH app.
“This single, streamlined, and verifiable proof of identity is a vital tool in enhancing financial inclusion, simplifying government and private sector transactions, and expanding access to social protection programs,” Losare said.
By integrating the National ID with BRAP, PSA Guimaras ensures residents are registered in the civil registry while also being equipped with a verifiable ID for social and economic participation.
PSA Guimaras stressed that civil registration and national identification are interconnected pillars of inclusion that allow citizens to exercise their rights and access services.
“Civil registration and national identification go hand in hand in building a more inclusive society,” Losare noted.
“By extending both services to the grassroots, PSA Guimaras is making sure that every Guimarasnon is counted, recognized, and empowered.”
The agency said the success of BRAP and the National ID system reflects what can be achieved when both initiatives are harmonized.
BRAP brings registration closer to families at the grassroots level, while the National ID guarantees every Filipino has a unique and verifiable digital identity.
“By continuing to strengthen BRAP and National ID mobile registration, PSA Guimaras reaffirms its mission to ensure that every Guimarasnon is documented, identified, and empowered to participate fully in social, economic, and political life,” Losare said.
