North Carolina State University Wolfpack pulled off their biggest win of the season after ending no.1 NCAA women’s Division I team South Carolina’s the 29-game winning streak.
N.C. State played spoiler after rusting North Carolina’s perfect record while beating them 54-46 in their own court.
Just when everybody thought that South Carolina would just steam-roll the underdogs, Kayla Jones and the Wolfpack ignited the offense that caught the heavy favorites off-guard.
The savvy forward was all systems go and was determined to score the historic win after chipping in a double-double performance with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Jones capped off her masterful performance by burying a dagger three-pointer to extend the lead to a more comfortable 53-46 with 27 seconds left in the final frame.
N.C State also had a bunch of contributions from their core of Raina Perez, Jakie Brown-Turner, and Kai Crutchfield.
