BACOLOD CITY — A 17-year-old boy was arrested in a drug bust in Barangay Singcang-Airport on Thursday after authorities seized PHP 122,400 worth of suspected shabu.
Operatives of Police Station 8 apprehended the suspect, resulting in the confiscation of approximately 18 grams of suspected shabu.
Police identified the minor as a street-level individual in the local drug trade.
Drug charges are being prepared in coordination with the Women and Children Protection Desk and the Department of Social Welfare and Development, in compliance with protocols for minors in conflict with the law.
Meanwhile, the Talisay City Police Station in Negros Occidental has identified the man found dead inside a car in Barangay Efigenio Lizares on Dec. 2.
Police Maj. Rhazl Jim Jocson, deputy chief of the Talisay City Police Station, said the victim’s brother positively identified him but the family declined to provide further details, stating they wanted him to rest in peace.
Jocson said the victim was last seen alive by his family on Sunday, Dec. 2, although they were unaware of his activities at the time.
The body was discovered in a state of decomposition after the car owner went to check the vehicle when a replacement battery he had ordered arrived.
The victim was found in the driver’s seat, but police have yet to determine how he ended up inside the car or why he was unable to exit.
The vehicle had reportedly been left unattended for some time due to mechanical issues.
Authorities are awaiting the results of the post-mortem examination to confirm the cause of death.
