It seems the Milwaukee Bucks are preparing to move on from the Giannis Antetokounmpo era.
On Feb. 3, 2026, multiple sources revealed that the Milwaukee Bucks have begun submitting counteroffers to teams actively pursuing the services of the “Greek Freak.”
According to ESPN veteran NBA insider Shams Charania, Milwaukee prefers a superstar-level player in exchange for Antetokounmpo and/or a massive deal package involving multiple draft picks.
During the final stretch of January, the Bucks started to entertain aggressive offers from Eastern Conference powerhouse teams, the Miami Heat and the New York Knicks.
In the Western Conference, teams that reportedly inquired about Antetokounmpo included the Golden State Warriors and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Despite having the Big Three of Bam Adebayo, Norman Powell, and Tyler Herro, Charania reiterated that Miami is willing to center its trade package on a combination of draft picks and star players.
In the case of the Anthony Edwards-led Minnesota squad, management opted to focus on sending players, while Golden State countered with a package centered on draft picks.
As of this writing, New York, one of the most aggressive franchises in pursuing Antetokounmpo, has not laid out its initial offer to Milwaukee.
The “Greek Freak” is reportedly open to being moved at any point this season but is also considering his options if the Bucks propose an offer he cannot refuse.
“Sources said Antetokounmpo has informed the Bucks for months that he believes the moment has come to part ways after 12-plus years together, making a trade increasingly possible,” Charania said.
In 30 games this season, Antetokounmpo is averaging 28 points, 10 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 0.9 steals per game.
