BACOLOD City – Two persons met tragedy after coming from a Christmas Party when their motorcycle collided with a multicab in Barangay Punta Taytay here yesterday.
Police identified the fatality as Chelwin Duay of Barangay Bata, a merchandiser in a shopping mall.
Wounded was his co-worker Rusty Endrada of Isabela, Negros Occidental.
Police Captain Michael Tuburan, head of Police Station 9, said the two victims were allegedly speeding on their way home from a beach resort around 3 a.m. when they overlapped into the opposite lane causing a head-on-collision.
Tuburan said that it was raining at that time and the road was also slippery.

The two victims were not wearing helmets, according to Tuburan. The multicab driver, who is a fish vendor, was unharmed, he added.
Tuburan said that the multicab driver was released from police custody yesterday following a settlement with the victims’ families.
