Manila Electric Company (Meralco) reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating the Philippines’ shift to sustainable mobility during the 13th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit held October 23–25, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center Manila.
At the summit, Meralco showcased its Electric Vehicle Adoption Program, a key component of its broader sustainability roadmap promoting clean transport and long-term energy resilience.
The program is built on three core pillars: Meralco as an Enabler—by providing reliable EV charging infrastructure; as a User—by electrifying its company fleet; and as a Player—by operating commercial charging stations and partnering to expand EV adoption nationwide.
Meralco Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Ronnie L. Aperocho underscored the utility’s leadership in the electric mobility movement, which he referred to as the “EV revolution.”
“Electric mobility is no longer a distant vision—it is here, it is real, and it is transforming the way we move and power our lives,” Aperocho said.
“At Meralco, we are committed to igniting this EVolution by strengthening the grid, powering EV infrastructure, and electrifying our own fleet,” he added.
He also emphasized that advancing EV adoption requires collaboration across policymakers, innovators, and industry players to develop supportive policies, raise public awareness, and unify industry actions.
Meralco’s exhibit featured both home and commercial EV charging solutions, along with energy programs that support the large-scale and practical deployment of electric vehicles for residential and business use.
