Luka Doncic is back.
After missing four straight games due to an ankle sprain injury, the Slovenian stalwart of the Dallas Mavericks was cleared to play and instantly gave the Mavs a boost in their 102-98 win against the San Antonio Spurs.
Pouring in 24 huge points with 10 rebounds and 8 assists, the monster numbers were much needed as they faced a determined and disciplined Spurs squad heading into the game.
The balanced scoring and the free-flowing ball movement of the Mavericks also gave them the edge against the Spurs with 6 players scoring in double-figures.
Nipping and tucking the whole game, it was in the second quarter where Dallas started to pile up their scoring, producing 32 points in the second period alone compared to the Spurs’ 23.
Spurs also started to miss in the clutch including Derrick White’s crucial trey with 5.8 seconds left in the ball game.
Doncic then grabbed the rebound to seal the deal and took care of business away from home as they try to end their road tour on a positive note.
