The Roxas City government, the City Health Office, and the Department of Health launched on Monday Phase II of the Meales, Rubella, and Oral Polio Vaccine Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR OPV SIA).
The activity dubbed “Chikiting Ligtas sa dagdag bakuna kontra sa tipdas, polio kag makayha” was held at Brgy. Lanot.
The other partners of the activity were the Rotary Club of Roxas, Philippine Red Cross-Capiz Chapter, Bureau of Fire Protection, Roxas City PNP, barangay officials led by Punong Barangay Kapitan Rolando “Totong” Tuazon, and barangay health workers.
The MR OPV SIA will be conducted in all barangays until February 28, 2021.
It aims to vaccinate children 0 to 59 months from measles, rubella, and polio.
The CHO said some children were not vaccinated last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We will try to reach and inoculate them this time,” Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas said.
