CERES Negros FC stalwart Bienvenido Maranon was happy with his teams’ performance in the first leg of the zonal finals of the AFC Cup.
The Spaniard scored the opener for the Philippine side but an equalizing goal from the visitors set the result to a 1-1 draw last Wednesday.
Despite conceding late in the match, the veteran striker was still in high spirits after in the post match press conference.
“I’m happy for the goal but I’m also happy with the good job from the team,” said the current AFC Cup topscorer.
“I think we did really really good game. We didn’t get the win but we did our very best,” he added.
The longtime Ceres player is already looking for the next match in a week’s time when they travel to Vietnam for the second leg.
“Now we have to prepare the next match because we saw a really good Ceres team on the pitch.”
“We have to continue this next time and hopefully we can play a good game there,” Maranon added.
Ceres-Negros FC will play the second leg of the semis in Hanoi on June 25 at the Hang Day Stadium.
