It may be uncommon in the Philippine basketball scene, but Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings and the Magnolia Hotshots will cancel out each other as early as the quarterfinals of the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup today, July 20, 2019.
Both teams had a bumpy path going into the playoffs, with the Gin Kings only placing fourth and the Hotshots coming in at fifth.
With fans used to seeing the match up either in the semi-finals or the finals, the MOA Arena will be flooded with supporters as the Manila Clasico always registers the largest number of crowd.
The best of three series will start at 5 p.m. with Manila Clasico as the second game of a double header action packed Saturday.
Expect a physical and bruising game between third seed Blackwater Elite and sixth seed Rain or Shine Elastopainters in the first game.
