ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 21-year-old man who allegedly punched his 19-year-old cousin to death Sunday evening at Sitio Busay in Barangay Timpas, Panitan, Capiz has surrendered.
Police Staff Sergeant Francisco Mario Balasa, Panitan Municipal Police Station investigator, identified the victim as a certain alias Jheid while the suspect was Noriel, both residents of said place.
Balasa said that the suspect personally went to the police station and explained that he was merely defending himself when Jheid attacked him.
Investigation by Panitan Municipal Police Station indicated that Jheid figured in a heated conversation with Noriel that led to a fistfight.
Jheid was later found unconscious near their house and was immediately taken to Capiz Doctor Hospital here where he was declared dead on arrival.
The victim suffered injuries in the head and other parts of his body
The police eyed long old grudges as motive for the incident.
