Dennis Mansiba, 32, a truck helper from Barangay Sta. Rita, was arrested after the incident.
The victim, 46-year-old Ruel Mansiba, a barangay kagawad of Sta. Rita suffered gunshot wounds on his neck and shoulder.
Police Major Ciriaco Esquilarga, Maasin police chief, said the two had been binge drinking when Ruel brought out the topic of Dennis’ alleged womanizing activity.
The suspect’s wife is currently working abroad.
“Maybe, Dennis was afraid that it would reach his wife’s attention,” Esquilarga said.
The two argued until Dennis drew a gun and shot his brother.
A neighbor brought the victim to the hospital. He was later transferred to Western Visayas Medical Center in Iloilo City for treatment.
Responding policemen arrested Dennis at his parents’ house but the gun was missing.
