Man nabbed with gun, drugs in President Roxas

PRESIDENT ROXAS, Capiz — A day after police arrested a man for alleged possession of an unlicensed firearm and suspected shabu in Pilar, another person was arrested Wednesday morning, Sept. 30, in Barangay Pondol, President Roxas.

Personnel of the President Roxas Municipal Police Station implemented a search warrant at the house of alias “Alexes,” of legal age and a resident of Barangay Pondol.

Police recovered a .38-caliber firearm; seven sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP 300,000; a bundle of empty plastic sachets; a pouch; a sling bag; aluminum foil; and several pieces of drug paraphernalia.

The search warrant was issued Sept. 29, 2026, by Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Lorencito Belo Diaz of Branch 17 in Roxas City.

The operation followed the Sept. 29 arrest of alias “Bambi,” 43, during the implementation of a search warrant in Sitio Bat-os, Barangay San Ramon, Pilar, Capiz.

Personnel of the Pilar Municipal Police Station, led by officer in charge Police Capt. Achilles P. Fangco Jr., together with the 1st Capiz Police Mobile Force Company, conducted the operation.

Police recovered nine heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing about 60 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of PHP 408,000, one .38-caliber revolver, three live rounds of .38-caliber ammunition, two live rounds of 12-gauge shotgun ammunition, and a black bag.

Bambi and the recovered items were brought to the Pilar Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition.

Police said Bambi would face charges for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
