BACOLOD City – A man was killed after he was run over by a six-wheeler truck loaded with assorted scrap iron at Sitio Camp Valdez, Barangay Mambaroto, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental last Sunday.
Police identified the victim as Harold Francisco, 45, of Barangay Bacuyangan, Hinoba-an town. He was a buyer of scrap materials.
Based on police investigation, the victim was riding a truck on his way here when his 34-year-old driver told him that he was losing control of the vehicle due to mechanical trouble.
The victim then allegedly jumped out of the vehicle and was run over by the rear tire of the moving truck.
He was declared dead in a hospital while his driver-companion was placed under police custody.
