Man accused of rape arrested in hospital

A man accused of rape was arrested while in hospital confinement in Kalibo, Aklan, on the afternoon of June 10.
Police identified the suspect only as alias Fel, 37, a resident of Nabas, Aklan.
Members of the Nabas Municipal Police Station, in collaboration with the Regional Intelligence Division (RID) 6’s Special Operations Group, Regional Intelligence Unit 6 – Aklan, and Maritime Police Station-Aklan, arrested the suspect by virtue of an arrest warrant for three counts of rape under Criminal Case Nos. 177329, 177330, and 177331.
Judge Bienvenido Barrios of the Regional Trial Court (RTC)-6 Branch 3, Kalibo, Aklan, issued the arrest warrant on June 9, 2024, a day before the suspect’s arrest.
No bail was recommended for Fel’s temporary liberty.
Master Sergeant Melvin Alba Jr., Nabas police investigator, stated that the suspect had been involved in a vehicular incident on May 29 and had been in hospital confinement since then.
He was still undergoing treatment when the court issued the arrest warrant.
Fel is now under hospital arrest and will be turned over to the concerned court soon.
