The Beach Walk Jollyfeet Malditos and Uniwheels cars display notched important wins in the ongoing JB Amateur Basketball League, Elite Division Season 1.
Bouncing back after a heartbreaking loss to Asialink/E&C Trucking, Uniwheels was more focused this time and were laser-sharp with their executions.
Clashing with a young and upcoming OJNA Crocodiles squad, the veteran Uniwheels showed how experienced players maneuver inside the court as they cruised past the youngsters, 93-72.
OJNA showed signs of life as superstar Jayjay Guanzon came in late, firing 12 straight unanswered points to spark up his team but the Uniwheels squad had an answer for every OJNA run made.
Kano Lauresta’s defensive prowess in the perimeter proved efficient as he was able to win the best player of the game honors with 12 points and five dimes for Uniwheels, limiting OJNA’s three-point conversions.
In the next game, the Beachwalk Malditos grabbed another win after a monster performance for the player of the game, John Davis Paquingan with a 37-point output against the Queen’s Pension house, 81-63.
The Malditos fought an intense battle with Queen’s Robert Hainga, a towering 6’7’’ big man that operated inside and made his presence felt the whole game.
With Queen’s dominance underneath, the Malditos squad switched it up and took the game to the perimeter where Paquingan reigned supreme, dropping outside bombs after outside bombs that spoiled Vincent Conlu’s three-point shooting exhibition with 9 drained threes.
