ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The punong barangay of Burias in Mambusao, Capiz was dismayed after a Locally Stranded Individual (LSI) sneaked out of the birthing clinic that served as Quarantine Facillity Saturday evening.
The 26-year-old male LSI arrived in Mambusao from Metro Manila on January 29, 2021.
According to Punong Barangay Rosalia Loja, the LSI allegedly went out of the facility around 7PM of January 30.
He slipped past the guard and proceeded to a birthday party of a friend near the area.
At around 10pm, village officials saw the LSI with his siblings and cousins drinking liquor. He was accosted and brought back to the facility.
The LSI apologized to the barangay officials and promised not to repeat his action.
LSIs and other returnees from areas outside Western Visayas are required to undergo quarantine while waiting for their test results to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
