BACOLOD CITY – Negrense businessman Leo Rey Yanson reaffirmed his commitment to continue serving Filipino commuters and maintaining reliable public transportation services despite ongoing operational and regulatory challenges facing the industry.
Yanson was re-elected chairman and president of Rural Transit (Mindanao) Inc. during the company’s annual stockholders’ meeting Wednesday.
In a statement, he emphasized the company’s resilience and ability to adapt to the evolving landscape of the Philippine public transportation system.
Yanson said the company’s operations play a critical role in the regional economy by facilitating daily travel for workers, students, and business travelers across Mindanao.
“Maintaining service reliability is essential to sustaining commerce and ensuring access to education across the municipalities the company serves,” he said.
Also re-elected to the board of directors were Olivia Yanson, Charles Dumancas, Rey Ardo, Anita Chua, and Daniel Nicolas Golez.
Following the meeting, the board reaffirmed Olivia Yanson as corporate secretary and treasurer.
The election affirms the company’s existing management structure and strategic direction as Rural Transit (Mindanao) Inc. continues to serve as a key mobility provider in Northern and Central Mindanao.
The firm operates extensive provincial routes linking major urban centers, including Cagayan de Oro, Iligan, Butuan, Valencia, and Malaybalay.
Rural Transit (Mindanao) Inc. is a subsidiary of the Bacolod City-based Yanson Group of Bus Companies, considered the country’s largest road transport conglomerate.
Yanson was also recently reappointed chairman and president of Goldstar Bus Transit Inc. and Ceres Transport Inc.
