KALIBO, Aklan – Nine Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) in Aklan competed to showcase their knowledge of civil registration laws and procedures during the 2025 Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Quiz on Feb. 17 at Ati-Atihan County Inn, Kalibo, Aklan.
Participating LCROs included Buruanga, Ibajay, Kalibo, Libacao, Makato, Malay, Nabas, Numancia, and Tangalan.
The competition aimed to assess employees’ knowledge and analytical skills regarding various laws governing civil registration, as well as procedures for registering vital events and legal instruments.
Saira Jane Reportado of LCRO Malay secured first place after earning the highest score among the eight contestants. Arnie Jane Pascual of LCRO Tangalan placed second, while Analyn Ibardolaza of LCRO Numancia finished third.
Winners received certificates and cash prizes from Chief Statistical Specialist Engr. Antonet B. Catubuan.
The first- and second-place winners will represent Aklan in the regional competition on Feb. 28, 2025, at the PSA Regional Office in Iloilo City.
The event was part of the 35th Civil Registration Month celebration, themed “Building a Resilient, Agile, and Future-Fit Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System.”
