To help cushion the impact of rising energy prices on vulnerable sectors, LANDBANK is ramping up its energy crisis response through a coordinated mix of fuel subsidies, commuter support, and concessional financing to deliver immediate relief and longer-term assistance. These key interventions are aligned with President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.’s Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) Program.
In support of this mandate, LANDBANK is assisting the Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Transportation (DOTr), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) by providing the secure digital processing of the ₱10-per-liter Fuel Subsidy Program. Launched on April 14 and running until July 2026, the bank’s digital infrastructure serves as the primary channel to facilitate the efficient distribution of aid, ensuring that only qualified drivers or operators and accredited stations can transact under the subsidy program.
“Amid rising fuel costs, LANDBANK remains committed to delivering responsive and inclusive financial solutions that directly benefit transport operators, commuters, and food producers. Through close coordination with government partners, we ensure that assistance reaches those who need it, when they need it most,” said LANDBANK President and CEO Lynette V. Ortiz.
Powered by a secure digital system developed by LANDBANK, qualified public utility jeepneys (PUJs) and UV Express drivers can automatically avail of a ₱10 discount per liter of diesel at participating gasoline stations in Metro Manila. The subsidy covers up to 150 liters or ₱1,500 per unit per week, helping operators manage fuel costs while supporting stable fares for commuters.
To further ease daily transport expenses, LANDBANK has reintroduced the MRT-3 Balik Pasahe with LANDBANK Promo. From April 15 to July 31, 2026, MRT-3 passengers who pay using their LANDBANK contactless Visa Debit, Mastercard Prepaid, or Mastercard Credit cards at select turnstiles will receive 100% fare cashback.
Beyond short-term relief, the Bank is extending longer-term support through its Calamity Assistance and Rehabilitation Efforts for a Sustainable Recovery (CARES) Plus Lending Program, which provides financing for transport groups, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and other affected sectors to support working capital, operating expenses, and recovery needs.
Support for the agriculture sector is also being strengthened through the Agrisenso Plus Lending Program, which offers loans at a low interest rate of 3% per annum to help farmers and fishers manage rising input costs, including fuel and electricity, while sustaining productivity and food supply. This is complemented by the Agri-Fishery Support thru Capability Enhancement for Nationwide Development (ASCEND) Program, which brings together public and private partners to deliver capacity building, technical training, market linkage, and enterprise development support.
Through these initiatives, LANDBANK continues to deliver targeted interventions that address both the immediate and long-term effects of the current energy crisis. By combining digital innovation, strategic partnerships, and accessible financing, the Bank helps keep public transport running, commuting costs affordable, and food production stable.
As the government’s partner in advancing inclusive and sustainable development, LANDBANK remains committed to providing timely and relevant financial solutions that support priority sectors and empower Filipinos for a better future.
