Calibr8 Systems has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Science and Technology–Philippine Nuclear Research Institute to strengthen collaboration in scientific and technological research, particularly in radiation and nuclear science and technology.
The agreement formalizes cooperation between Calibr8 Systems, a Philippine-based industrial systems integrator providing end-to-end solutions for IT/OT convergence, and DOST-PNRI, the government’s nuclear research institution.
The partnership covers joint research and development initiatives, knowledge exchange, data sharing, and technology transfer, according to the announcement.
Both organizations said the collaboration is intended to support broader scientific and technological advancement in the Philippines.
The signing ceremony was led by Calibr8 Systems CEO Dan Reyes, Calibr8 Systems Founder and Chief Vision/Strategy Officer David Lim, also identified in the release as David Lim III, and DOST-PNRI Director Dr. Carlo Arcilla.
“Together, we look forward to driving forward groundbreaking research and supporting the growth of science and technology in the Philippines,” Calibr8 said.
The release did not disclose specific projects under the agreement.
The collaboration signals deeper engagement between private sector systems developers and DOST-PNRI in nuclear-related research and development.
DOST-PNRI is the sole government agency mandated to advance and regulate the safe and peaceful applications of nuclear science and technology in the Philippines.
Under Executive Order 128, its functions include conducting research and development on radiation and nuclear techniques, transferring research results to end-users, operating nuclear research reactors and radiation facilities, and licensing and regulating activities involving nuclear radioactive substances.
DOST-PNRI has identified nuclear science and technology as relevant to food, health, environment, and energy security, while also positioning itself as a national center of excellence in nuclear science and technology, services, and nuclear regulation.
