The turnover was held on May 18, 2026, marking a milestone in strengthening the city’s local-level statistics and supporting evidence-based planning and decision-making.
The PSA said the CBMS gives the local government unit access to comprehensive and disaggregated data that can guide policy formulation, resource allocation, identification of priority sectors, and the design of targeted interventions responsive to constituents’ needs.
City Administrator Josefina Jalandoni personally welcomed PSA staff and conveyed the city government’s appreciation for the official turnover.
Jalandoni led the acceptance of the flash drive containing the 2024 CBMS data files.
She was joined by City Planning and Development Coordinator Engr. Jose Ainar Apdol, EnP; Data Protection Officer Juvy Jomento; Statistician II Hannah B. de los Reyes; and Administrative Aide VI Jona Mae M. Labrague.
The data files were delivered by representatives of the PSA Negros Occidental Provincial Statistical Office, including Statistical Specialists II Fredimar M. Gonzales and Antonietta A. Gador; Statistical Analysts Resty John M. Bancruz and Aira Camille E. de la Banda; and Information Systems Analyst I Benjie Lee P. Serinas.
The PSA said the turnover reflects the collaboration between the agency and the City of La Carlota in making accurate and up-to-date data accessible for long-term development planning, transparency, and effective public service delivery.
The press release was issued on May 21, 2026, under Reference No. 2026-05-1845-97, and approved for release by John F. Campomanes, chief statistical specialist of PSA Negros Occidental.
