The New York Knicks bagged their most dominant win in eight games after crushing the Washington Wizards, 145-113, in the ongoing NBA regular season on March 23, 2026.
With another victory, New York extended its winning streak to six consecutive games while boosting its chances of overtaking the Boston Celtics for the No. 2 spot in the Eastern Conference.
Just like another day in the office, the Knicks barely broke a sweat against the struggling Wizards, winning all four quarters to wrap up the lopsided win with a wire-to-wire victory.
New York started off slow after Washington kept up with their pace, but broke the game wide open midway through the second quarter, thanks to a scorching rally from Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson, who went berserk with an efficient shooting display from the field.
The big KAT ballooned New York’s lead to double digits after back-to-back foul-counted plays, while Brunson pushed their cushion to 16 points at the half with a looping 3-pointer.
Despite Washington going for a 1-2-2 zone to trap Towns at the top of the key, that defensive adjustment still went to no avail after the Knicks ran several elbow pick-and-pops that collapsed the Wizards’ rotation.
To make things worse, Washington trailed by 24 points heading into the fourth quarter despite Bilal Coulibaly and Bub Carrington scoring the rock, as they just could not match New York’s firepower.
Aside from Towns and Brunson, Josh Hart, Mikal Bridges, and Tyler Kolek also did their share on offense, specifically in the final period when the one-two superstar punch took a breather.
Hart dictated the Knicks’ tempo with his rebounding, backstopped by Bridges and Kolek’s much-needed offensive resurgence that protected New York’s double-digit lead.
When Washington failed to get close within the 15- to 18-point gap, head coach Brian Keefe decided to rest all of his starters with seven minutes still remaining in the fourth quarter.
Towns led all scorers with a dominant double-double of 26 points, 16 rebounds, and three assists, while Brunson delivered 23 markers in just 28 minutes, alongside four dimes and a steal.
Taking charge of the bench mob were Bridges and Kolek, chipping in 14 and 11 points, respectively, while Mitchell Robinson added 10 markers and 10 rebounds.
New York will aim to push for its seventh straight win on March 25, 2026, against the New Orleans Pelicans, while Washington seeks to arrest its 16-game losing streak on March 26, 2026, against the Utah Jazz.
