Kevin Durant set to make return against Heat after knee injury

After six long weeks, Brooklyn Nets’ superstar Kevin Durant is finally back at full strength and is reported to join his team when they play against the Miami Heat today.

Brooklyn hopefuls flooded their social media accounts when the official Nets Twitter handle posted Durant’s picture with the caption: “The return.”

It has been a disappointing stretch for Brooklyn after Durant went down midway into the second quarter in their game against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Durant suffered a sprained MCL injury in his left knee when his teammate Bruce Brown Jr. collided with him as he went backpedaling on defense.

During the stretch that Durant was out, Brooklyn suffered a disappointing 3-15 win-loss record in its last 18 games and fell into the Eastern Conference eighth seed.

Before their win against the Pelicans, the Nets are still East’s no.2 team behind the Philadelphia 76ers.

Despite the James Harden trade that sent him to the 76ers, the Nets got enough firepower as they received Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, and Ben Simmons in exchange.

The six-foot-nine sniper is currently providing 29.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game when he is playing for the Nets and is expected to turn things around with only one month left before the playoffs begin.

Brooklyn is targeting to get out of the eighth-ninth position to avoid the play-in and is seeking to clinch a home court advantage by winning most of their remaining games of the regular season.
